Instrumental music is not vocal!
July 17, 2010 on 2:28 am | By admin | In Arts and Entertainment | Comments OffThere is the long standing argument about whether instrumental music is wordless and played only with physical instruments that are played or whether in fact the human voice is also in fact an instrument itself. I have to admit that I am of the opinion that the voice should not be classed as an instrument as there would surely then be no specific type of music that is instrumental music with no use of voices. This is of course unless you were to be talking about classical music without the use of vocals, but have you ever heard of it referred to like that? I don’t think you can search on Itunes for it that way! It is generally accepted that classical music is fundamentally instrumental but can and often does have some vocal components. There are no two versions of classical it is one and the same, instrumental music however is not so much a niche but a bigger genre that can be spread across classical, ambient, space music, solo performers such as pianists, it has surely got to be far fetched that anything with vocals is instrumental music. After all you play instruments you don’t play your voice!
