Laptop scanners offer portability for the business traveler

Laptop scanners are not what you might assume. They are not a program or device that scans the laptop to search for hardware problems, software errors, viruses or spyware as the name might suggest. Laptop scanners are simply devices that mirror the functionality of a traditional flatbed scanner, while having a compact size suitable for transport alongside your laptop in its case or bag. These laptop scanners are typically wand like in shape and connect to your PC via a USB connector. Documents pass through the scanner by motorized rubber rollers, and the image quality can be quite excellent depending on the model you use. As one might expect, cost plays a role in the image quality, solidity and compactness of the device.

Persons who travel for business purposes are the target consumer for laptop scanners. Presentation handouts, contracts, proposals, SOW all can be scanned on location. This eliminates the risk of losing important paperwork by enabling you to make an image that can be uploaded from most laptop scanners to in the cloud backup services, including the private network of your company or employer.
