Are you constantly typing in symptoms (you’re currently feeling) into a search engine? Are you browsing alternative remedies directories for a cure to your latest ailment? You might be suffering from “cyberchondria” – the online equivilant of hypochondria – where you’re forever consulting the internet for answers to your current state of health.

This can actually end up being detrimental to your health (ironically).  This is because everyday symptons like headaches and tiredness can also be symptoms of very serious illnesses too – so when you browse the list of possibilities of the causes of your symptoms, inevitably you come across serious illnesses and diseases it COULD be – and this feeds your anxiety, which in turn makes you more of a “cyberchondriac”.  The best thing to do is go offline for a few days and put things into perspective.
