Are Metal Roofing Installation Instructions Difficult to Follow?

I am trying to figure out whether or not I will be able to put in a new roof myself. Can anyone tell me whether or not metal roofing installation instructions are easy to follow? Are there any parts of the installation process that make it so that you really need to hire a professional? I tend to try to do as much of the work around the house as I can by myself to save money. I am quite handy, as long as I can find instructions to follow on how to do the various tasks that are involved in home upkeep.
