Why Buy Insurance?

The insurance industry is a huge business and after working in this field for over ten years, I feel I am able to give an intelligent opinion on the need for insurance.  I believe that many types of insurance are a necessity.  If you have a new vehicle, you want insurance coverage and not just the minimums either.  If you own your home, property insurance is crucial.  And as an employer you need insurance to cover your employment practices liability.  Health care insurance is so important, elections have been won and lost over that issue.  Life insurance is not a necessity but it is nice to have to cover your funeral expenses.
