Cuboid syndrome is a common reason behind ache on the exterior side on the foot. This cuboid is a tiny cube design bone that is involved with 3 joints – the calcaneocuboid joint; the joint in between the cuboid along with the fifth metatarsal; and also the joint between the cuboid and the lateral cuneiform. The cuboid’s role is always behave as the pulley for the tendon of peroneus longus muscle. This muscle is usually powerful and generates high forces that go through the cuboid as soon as the peroneus longus muscle contracts. It is these kinds of forces that causes cuboid syndrome. Treating cuboid syndrome is to stabilise the bone therefore it can take the actual forces.
