Increase Heart Rate and Jump Strength

I recently moved into an area where all the local gyms have a much different way of training then anything that I was accustomed to in my training before. Now we are using a lot of aerobic exercises that I was not used to and one thing in particular is the use of vertical jump training. In just a relatively short period of time I have increased the jumps where before I never even knew that they could be such a great way to increase my heart rate so fast and effectively that I could cut out other aerobic exercises that took more time.
